To maximize our North Star ROI of lifetime‑earnings, GitLab Foundation’s 3 year strategic plan notes that our capital will increasingly be used to organize, align or influence the capital of others — acting as a philanthropic platform that multiplies the scale, reach, and durability of outcomes. We have already seen significant success in using our funds to leverage others by, as of September 2025, securing at least $40M in direct, follow-on or matching funds – and an additional $32M raised by our grantees attributed by them to our support.
