Onboarding at GitLab Foundation is incredibly important and takes time. Generally you can expect the following during your first 90 days but much of your learning will be self-driven. Each onboarding plan will be tailored to the staff member and their role but will generally follow the format below. As mentioned during the interview process, the company is in early development stages and continuing to shift on a weekly basis. Being agile is key!
- Day 1-30: The first month involves training for the team member’s new position. This is when you learn as much as possible about the foundation, structure, policies, organizational goals, your role and expectations.
- Day 31-60: The second month of employment is the new team member’s opportunity to put what they’ve learned into practice by taking on new tasks and building on obtained knowledge.
- Day 60-90: Mastering the gig, fully meeting job expectations and achieving performance goals!
